instructions were very poor that came with the purchase. Ordered the extra large and it is massive! Have 4 cockatiels and they think they are living in a mansion. Plenty of room for them. As a female I put this together all by myself. Took a while to do and had to be creative. Some of the items ex tray was bent. Had to hammer it out. Thank goodness they send you paint. You will need it. All parts and hardware was in this box. UPS did beat the box up some so I did take pictures before unpacking it. All in all the birdcage is a good buy. Just don't expect perfection in shipping. As far as the poor instruction....go to their website and type in your birdcage item...the instructions are excellent! If I can build it you can. Just takes patience! The cage looks amazing. Some of the parts came bent and the screws were very difficult to put in. Once it was set up it looks great and my bird seems to like it. I got the largest cage for my Indian Ringneck and probably would have been fine with a small or medium but I guess he’ll live in a mansion. The major issue I have besides the bent pieces is that it comes with a little bottle of paint. Thought that was thoughtful and it would have been but the bottle had a hole in it and now my whole house smells like turpentine. I had to open all of the windows and turn on the fan and 2 hours later my eyes are still burning and I’m inhaling this stuff. It’s really strong and can’t be good for my animals. So mixed review. The cage is nice but I personally don’t feel it’s worth that much money. You can get a cage that’s just as good for a much lesser cost.I've wanted this cage for a long time. It arrived on time. But opening it up and inspecting the peices there was this one problem. Using zip ties for now. I honestly don't want to deal with the hassle of taking it all apart and shipping it back. So I'm giving 4 stars. But other than that small issue. I'm pleased with the cage. Scooter likes it too.I purchased this Prevue 3154 large parrot cage, and also a Prevue 5152 small parrot cage, both from Amazon itself. The small one arrived first. One box. It had a few parts banging around in the box.The one actual issue was the lower tray slides were totally twisted out of alignment. Ten minutes with some careful hammer tapping, and they were back to being lined up pretty good.Assembly was easy. Great. I waxed it, and waxing the drawer slides really make the removable parts slide. Perhaps TOO easy! The 'fit and finish' only the sloppy welds/grinding under the paint. and the somewhat messy paint and scratches in the trays.. But from a few feet away, it looks fine.I like the cage. The large Prevue 3154 with two boxes each arriving on a different day.The first box of small parts all was well. The second box was not so well.In it, one of the cage sides (one with dish holders) was seriously bent with a huge "S" curve in the middle. I was lucky I had already banged out the small parrot cage issues. So i set out to 'fix' the curve with a hammer, and a block of wood. With some patience, and a little wear on the paint (though none of the paint actually came off) I was able to reform it into a straight panel. Lucky. ((for many it would not be feasible, as I am rather handy AND patient(and knew the paint would stand up to hammering, and was willing to wack away at it) , it was possible.)Additional issues were one of the 8 metal "U" clips welded to the back (to hold the sides down) came loose. I had to go buy an epoxy glue for metal, and clean and reattach the part. Decent job, not pretty. (never did it before) Hope it sticks. Also the front door has a painted over glob of welding material right at the top of the door. Some of the parts are welded crooked. And a few touch ups are evident in the paint. If I paid retail for this i would be returning it.Calling Prevue's 800 number (supplied) was worthless. I emailed them and we will see what happens. The final bit was one of the rubber inserts holding the casters was missing. I asked them via email to send me one.I have no idea if they would have been willing to replace the "S" messed up side. The backside with the broken off clip, and the front door.As it is, I am satisfied since I am able to fix the problems. (even the rubber part is a common hardware store item.)For the money, it is a good cage for anyone able to handle a few rough bits like I did. Some of the cage parts bend very easily. And can be tapped with a hammer (or banged as needed) to straighten. To anyone I would say you have a good chance of needing some of these same skills I used if you buy this cage online.Would Prevue send replacement parts to those not so lucky, or not so willing to do this work? I do not know.So I give th cages a FOUR STAR. Not perfect. but pretty good.My birds like them.(though I plan on adding a 'porch' under the door. My birds love the drawbridge type door on their old cages which with a chain on the side can be a porch. So i may find a way to have a flap fold 'up, which can clip 'up' to horizontal via a chain on one side for them to have a 'porch' back again.)(someone should make these sorts of things..)For those with no patience for little issues. buy it locally and pay the extra $200. And make the dealer set it up.... (so you are buying one you can SEE, before paying for it.)I have looked at lots of cages and found this to be the most sturdy for the price. If you have ever assembled a cage before you will be able to easily assemble this one. If not, plan for it to take a while because the instructions are useless. So far my eckie loves his new cage! The product itself is really well made, I really appreciate lots of the small details on it. It's got the double catch on the front door, the bottom grate pulls out and locks in place, the top and bottom trays both can be pulled out for cleaning and the food bowls lock in place so the bird can't lift them up. It's a really good size for my green cheek conure and it feels incredibly sturdy. If this was all I'd give this product 5 stars however I've had to take off a few stars because of the wildly fluctuating price. It seems to fluctuate randomly across all sizes and colours for no obvious reason (e.g a flash sales etc) and I feel like I might of gotten a bad deal. I got the pewter as it was 30 quid cheaper than the green I was also considering however the following day the price had jumped up £100. I checked the other sizes and found the size just above was about £200 more than mine but then going up to the largest cage it was actually £60 cheaper? Every day the prices change randomly (some sizes and colours vary by over £300 from one day to the next) and if I had realised how much the prices fluctuate I would of waited before buying. (I also wish I'd seen this beforehand as would of liked a bigger cage for the same money but as the cage is already built and used I obviously can't return it.) As a customer there is no obvious reason I can see as all items show as dispatched and sold by Amazon. So if you do want this item I'd advise keeping a very close eye on the price as you could potentially save yourself quite a lot if you get it at the right time.LOVE this cage for my GCC. She looks so tiny in it but it’s brill coz it can be filled with lots of toys and perches. Due to this cage being sold predominantly in the US i struggled getting it in the colour I wanted so went for the only one left which was sage green. It is a lot nicer than I expected and the quality is excellent. I found it very easy to put together myself and my GCC took to it straight away. I can’t recommend this cage highly enough. I do have to say that I am disappointed there aren’t any reviews with pictures attached so I’ve added mine to help others with their purchase. Excellent service from Amazon as always.27/09/18 - POSATIVES: Happy the best strongest cage I have had & had many: I got the green sage & thePewter (light silver grey) colours - Took me 40 mins on my own: I don't use seed catchers or top traysSo they are a waste of money & metal could be sold cheaper without these things:NEGATIVE: Putting on top of both cages the screw holes do not line up so tops are not screwed downbut heavy enough to leave as they are... Would have got 5 stars but for this fault :-(A lovely, spacious home for my Alexandrine. Overall I'm very pleased. I can't think of any way to improve the quality or design.I was concerned about damage during delivery after reading a few reviews, but there were no issues. There are 2 areas of damage (one on the metal the lock attaches to and the other is a bent bowl holder so the bird can't throw the bowls on the floor. They don't affect use at all), but these must have occurred before it was packed because of where they are and where they were in the parcel. I don't feel they need to be replaced. I will re-paint the chip by the lock to avoid rust with the little pot of paint included. I only paid £141.00 for the cage, the very next day it was back to £398.00 and should apparently be around £700.00 from this seller on Amazon and I might have felt differently about the damage if I had paid these prices! It was easy to put together and is very sturdy, but I did have to think about which way round some of the panels went as the instructions are brief to say the least! I'm not engineering inclined, but it only took me 1hr on my own to put together with only one small mistake (I put the top play stand bar on backwards at first). I am 6 foot 2 though so I could hold the whole thing at once and flip it as needed. The side panels were bowed, but straightened up when they were put in. The 3rd bracket on each side has an additional lip and I found it easiest to focus on this one and the one below and then just pull the front and back panels out slightly to slot the top 2 in rather than sliding the whole thing down from the top as is suggested, with the bend this is very difficult. I didn't put the seed catcher on as I don't think they're useful.I haven't had a white cage before and I'm nervous of chipping the paint so I've padded all the perch attachments with vet wrap to cushion where they touch the bars, but this is my worries rather than any reason to think this will happen.I bought the 18x18 inch cage in pewter. No damage to the cage, which I was pleasantly surprised having bought multiple cages in the past from different brands and all received with damage. I am 16 and set it up all by myself, very simple instructions, easy to follow. Using this for one cockatiel, very happy with this product.
