I had a Bird of Paradise plant years ago. It never bloomed, and I heard that is normal indoors. Thought I would try again and do some surfing when they get older to find if anyone has ideas on getting them to flower. I am definitely too far North to have them planted outside. Even if they do not flower, they are great foliage. And there is always the old 'Add a fake flower' plan if all else fails. Received much taller plants than I expected, especially for 1" pots. All looking nice and healthy even though the box was damaged. Plan on repotting immediately. They were nearly root bound. Use a loam soil- I ended up mixing container gardening soil, sand, and perlite. Hopefully that works out. I would definitely get these again. Jim
