This cage is everything that we were looking for in a bird cage. This cage is very spacious, our 3 boys took to it immediately. They love the height, the staggered perches for hopping and the horizontal bars which give them plenty of climbing area . Plenty of room to play, and put toys. We looked a very long time to find this size, a taller stand, very low placed cups seed (for cleanliness) , horizontal bars (for climbing), not many cages have this feature which parakeets really need, and the 1/2 inch bar spacing for parakeets. Our boys absolutely love to climb, as all keets do. I absolutely love the shell top, not just a plain flat top, and the cage is beautiful to look at . The pull out tray for easy cleaning, is wonderful, I just put a few newspaper liners in it and every morning pull the top one out, until once a week cage cleaning time comes. I also leave the grate out so they have a flat place to rest and change their feet position to keep them healthy. Some reviews said it was flimsy, I don't see this at all. We are looking at a small to medium size bird cage, they aren't made with heavy wire like a cage for large birds that need it. I can't say enough good things about this cage, we love it and so does the boys ! This is the prefect parakeet cage !
