I've been using the Flying Mate smart bird feeder for about a week now and have been quite satisfied with it. The feeder arrived unassembled, but the included instruction manual made the assembly process straightforward. I appreciate the multiple installation options: you can mount it on a porch railing, a wall, or use the provided strap to wrap it around a tree trunk!The camera's motion sensor has also impressed me. You can adjust the sensitivity to suit your needs. At the highest setting, it detects movement not only directly in front of the feeder but also in the background of my yard. For better results, I recommend slightly reducing the sensitivity to focus on activity at the feeder. The camera's battery life has been excellent—I haven’t needed to recharge it since the initial setup. The app is user-friendly with various customizable settings, and the 64GB micro-SD card is already plugged to automatically store video and photos.Watching the live feed of the wildlife at the feeder has been a great experience, especially with the birds and squirrels preparing for winter. However, if you’re not fond of squirrels raiding the feeder, you might want to place it somewhere squirrels can't reach, like on the wall of your house. The opening where the birdseed dispenses is fairly large, which can make it easy for squirrels to access. If you spot a squirrel at the feeder, you can activate a bright light and alarm to deter it. I haven’t used it in real-time yet, but it was quite loud during testing, so I believe it will be effective.
