Put two feeders in my wooded back yard and immediately had four squirrels on them. Feeding door shut and no food available to the squirrels. They jumped off and presto, food available to birds. Had one large blackbird on one of the feeders, and what do you know --doors shut and no food available to the blackbird. He stayed a while trying to figure out why he could see food but couldn't get to it. Bonus for the anti-squirrel feeders. The birds love this feeder because they don't have to compete with the squirrels for seed.
